The Food Show | Wellington

And just like that, Wellington wrapped up our final Food Show of the year — and what a way to finish!

This time our trusty SideCar Food Trailer couldn’t squeeze through the doors, so we switched it up and served our mayo over hot cheese ‘n’ hammy toastie sammies. Turns out, a crispy, gooey toastie and mayo are a match made in heaven — heaps of you admitted you’d never thought to try the combo before. Safe to say, that little secret is out now.

Wellington came ready to eat, and you kept us busy from open to close. By the end of each day, we were staring at a mountain of flattened cartons from all the jars heading home in your bags. Garlic Aioli was the clear crowd favourite, but plenty of you mixed it up and discovered our Habanero and OG.

We also loved how many people stopped to chat about the brand — hearing that feedback means the world. And spotting SideCar totes over shoulders, quickly filling up with goodies from the show (or just to carry your mayo stash), was pretty cool too.

It was a busy, buzzing, invigorating show to be part of — the perfect Food Show send-off for the year. Big thanks to Wellington for the love, the laughs, and the toastie crumbs — we’ll be back next year!

SideCar Trailer Tour | North Island 2025

Taking the SideCar Food Trailer up to the Auckland Food Show was just the excuse we needed to hit the North Island once again. From mid-July through August, we popped up at supermarkets in Whangārei, Auckland, Hamilton, Palmerston, and Wellington — armed with fries, mayo, and plenty of cheesy enthusiasm.

Winter did its best to keep us on our toes. Icy roads, gusty storms… and one particularly ambitious rubbish bin that seemed to be more interested in learning how to fly! Winter also confirmed one thing: a SideCar hoodie is a non-negotiable for future tours. Still, nothing stopped the queues from forming, or the looks on people’s faces when we said, “Free mayo on fries.” That collective “FREE?!?” never fails to make us grin.

SideCar Sachets were a hit too, letting people take a little piece of the trailer experience home and dollop it over whatever they fancied — fries, toasties, sandwiches, you name it.

Wellington saw us visiting some smaller, community-focused supermarkets, which was an absolute treat. Friendly faces, local chats, and the warm energy of these neighbourhoods made the tour extra special.

We’d hoped to end the trailer tour with a bang at the Wellington Food Show… though squeezing the trailer through the doors might have been the real bang — and possibly the end of the trailer! Still, it was a fast-paced, flavour-packed few weeks — full of fries, laughs, and moments we won’t forget anytime soon. Missed us this round? Don’t worry — keep your fries hot, your mayo generous, and get ready: we’ll be back before you can shout “SideCar time!”

The Food Show | Auckland

What. A. Show.

The Auckland Food Show was an absolute whirlwind — four jam-packed days at ASB Showgrounds with thousands of hungry food lovers streaming through each day. We were flat out in the SideCar Food Trailer, serving up 1,000–2,000 free fry-and-mayo tasters a day!

And you didn’t just stop at a fry. Our jars were disappearing into tote bags faster than we could unpack them, proving what we already knew: New Zealand has a serious mayo obsession.

Every purchase scored a spin on our prize wheel — which was mostly good fun… until one clever legend thought he’d found the cheat code. He bought five jars in five separate transactions, stepping out of line and straight back in, just to keep spinning. (Annoying? Yep. Commitment to mayo? Undeniable.) So, the new rule is officially: one spin per person, per purchase. Lesson learned.

The whole weekend was busy, saucy, and full of flavour. Watching people discover SideCar — from their first fry dunk to leaving with arms full of jars — reminded us why we do what we do: spreading joy (and a lot of mayo) to food lovers everywhere.

Big thanks to everyone who stopped by, stocked up, spun the wheel, or just had a laugh with us. Auckland, you were epic — see you next time!

SideCar Trailer Tour | Canterbury 2025

A short but sweet week — five supermarkets in five days — packed full of fries, mayo, and plenty of laughs!

We couldn’t help but wonder whether our bright red trailer was acting like a magnet for Crusaders fans — multiple jerseys flashed past, appearing at our window, ready to grab their fry fix. Competition or coincidence? Either way, it made for some fun moments.

Helping introduce SideCar to Southern fry-lovers was a highlight. Garlic Aioli and OG were popular, but the clear winner for the week? Smokey Habanero — the perfect way to warm up on those chilly days!

If you missed us this time, don’t worry — we’re sure to be back. In the meantime, satisfy that craving by cooking up some shoestring fries to golden perfection, sprinkle with grated cheese, and don’t forget a generous dollop of SideCar mayo. After a spicy kick? Go on, slather on that Smokey Habanero.

The Food Show | Christchurch

A huge thanks to everyone who swung by the SideCar stand at the Christchurch Food Show and joined our Scan-to-Win giveaway! The event was a feast for the senses—over 130 exhibitors, thousands of food lovers, and a whirlwind of flavours, aromas, and culinary creativity.

We had an absolute blast meeting fellow mayo enthusiasts and seeing their reactions firsthand—especially those brave souls who tried our Smokey Habanero and got that kick we warned them about! The surprise, the laughter, the “oh wow” faces - those are the moments that make it all worth it.

The winner of the Ooni Pizza Oven Set + SideCar Mayo-Mixer Prize Pack was the lucky… Chris Wallace!

Didn’t snag the win this time? Don’t sweat it—we’re just getting started. Keep your eyes peeled for new flavours, giveaways, big events, and all the spots around New Zealand where you can grab your SideCar fix.

Whether you were at the show or just wish you were, we hope the taste of SideCar made your Food Show experience a little saucier - and we can’t wait to see you at the next one!

SideCar Trailer Tour | North Island 2024

We’ve just wrapped up our very first SideCar Trailer Tour — October and November were a blur of mayo, fries, and supermarket carparks from Auckland to Hamilton, Tauranga to Whakatāne, Hawke’s Bay, Palmy, and all the way to Wellington. What. A. Ride.

Every stop brought eager, smiling faces (plus a few kids attempting to climb up to the trailer window to get to snag their fries faster). Rain, wind, blazing sun, or chilly mornings — nothing stopped us from dishing up golden fries smothered in SideCar mayo.

And while most days were smooth sailing, the tour wasn’t without a little drama. The day our generator died mid-service will be forever etched in SideCar history. The urgent replacement we hauled in also gave up the ghost… until finally the “back-up back-up” carried us through. Oh, and right in the middle of it all, a carton somehow managed to catch fire in our oven. (Don’t worry — only our nerves were toasted.)

Then there was the backing... To those who patiently waited while we perfected the art of getting the trailer into prime locations — thank you. We’re proud to say we’re now trailer-backing champs!

The first SideCar Trailer Tour was everything we dreamed of: busy, buzzing, and packed with mayo love. And if this is only the beginning, we can’t wait to see where the road takes us next.

Where should we roll into?

SideCar is the classic mayonnaise made right here in New Zealand. Smooth, creamy, and makes every meal so unreasonably delicious. Put simply, it’s the mayonnaise other mayo’s dream of.
